Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Stop & Think Presents: Incarceration vs Rehabilitation

Coming Soon in Neon Letters
September 3, 2025
5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Psychology Building, RM35

Facilitated by: Dr. Lisa Cravens Brown, Honors Advisor & Associate Vice Chair for Instruction

If you saw the film Singsing, released in 2023, about a group of inmates at Singsing prison who participate in a program called Rehabilitation Through the Arts, you were likely powerfully affected by the story of the transformational force of the arts and the incredible resilience of the men.  For our first Stop! And Think of the year, we will watch a series of TED talks given from correctional facilities, mostly by inmates.  Our conversation will center on the meaning of the word "rehabilitation" and the difference between incarceration and rehabilitation, how the arts are a powerful way to find your voice, and what we can learn from these individuals about psychology, stereotyping/prejudice, and our prison system.

Please join us for this 2 hour event to share connection, great conversation, and pizza with us!
